Are these just thin applications built on top of GPT or Claude?

No. We use frontier models where they’re the right tool, but the value sits in what surrounds them: a shared layer of AI agents, retrieval systems wired into proprietary data, and evaluation infrastructure reused across every venture. A venture that can be rebuilt in a weekend on a public API does not clear our first gate.

Typically three to nine months, depending on regulatory exposure and data access. Because the founding technical team, the data infrastructure, and the agent layer already exist inside the studio, a venture doesn't spend its first two quarters hiring and assembling a stack.

Founders keep operational control of their company and a majority position. The studio takes a minority stake in exchange for engineering, distribution, starting capital, and the platform. The company is spun out as its own legal entity with its own cap table and board.

Compliance is designed into the architecture, not retrofitted before a funding round. Every venture is risk-classified under the AI Act at the first gate, with data minimization, access control, and audit trails specified before the product is built. In HealthTech and FinTech that work is what makes institutional buyers reachable at all.

It is shut down and its budget is reallocated. Gate criteria are written before the work starts, so the decision is a comparison against a standard rather than a judgment call. Closing early is what lets a compact team run several ventures at once without carrying dead weight.
